1. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information — name, email address, username, profile photo, a securely hashed password, and email-verification status. When you use Google or Apple sign-in, we receive basic profile details from that provider.
- Profile & fitness preferences — age, gender, height, weight, goals, running experience, and preferred training days you provide during setup.
- Activity & location data — GPS routes, distance, pace, duration, and other run metrics recorded while you use tracking features.
- Wallet & transaction data — wallet address, on-chain transaction records, stake amounts, deposits, balances, and plan participation.
- AI coach content — the messages you send to the AI coach and the responses generated for you.
- Device & usage data — device model, operating system, app version, IP address, language, and diagnostic/telemetry events collected automatically.
2. How we use information
- To create and manage your account and authenticate you.
- To provide core features: run tracking, coaching plans, analytics, and the AI coach.
- To provision and operate your in-app wallet and process staking and deposit transactions.
- To personalize training plans and recommendations.
- To send transactional communications such as email verification and password resets.
- To secure the Service, prevent fraud, and improve performance.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
3. Google sign-in & Google user data
Why we offer “Continue with Google.”We provide Google sign-in as a faster, more secure way to create your account and log in — so you don’t have to create and remember another password, and so you can access your runs across devices with a single tap. Google verifies your identity for us, which reduces the risk of fake or compromised accounts. It is an optional convenience; you can always use email and password instead.
When you choose “Continue with Google,” Google shares a verified identity token with us. From it we access only your email address and basic profile(name and profile picture), solely to create or sign you in to your Momentum account — not for any other purpose. We do not use Google user data for advertising, and we do not sell it. Momentum’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. You can revoke Momentum’s access at any time from your Google Account permissions.
4. Location & fitness data
Run tracking relies on your device’s location (GPS). We collect location only while you use tracking features and only after you grant permission. You can disable location access at any time in your device settings; some features (such as live route mapping) will not function without it. We use fitness data to display run history, calculate progress, and adapt coaching plans.
5. Wallet & financial data
Momentum provides an in-app digital wallet provisioned and secured through a third-party wallet-infrastructure provider. Momentum does not custody your private keys directly. On-chain transactions (such as stakes and deposits) are recorded on a public blockchain and are, by design, permanent and publicly visible. Blockchain transactions cannot be reversed or deleted by Momentum.
6. AI coach & content you provide
Messages you send to the AI coach are processed to generate responses and may be transmitted to a third-party AI model provider for that purpose. Do not share sensitive personal, medical, or financial details in AI chats. AI responses are for general informational and motivational purposes only and are not medical, financial, or professional advice.
7. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:
- Service providers — vendors that host our infrastructure, deliver email, provide wallet infrastructure, power the AI coach, and provide maps, acting on our instructions.
- Legal & safety — when required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Momentum, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
- With your consent — for any other purpose disclosed to you at the time.
8. Data retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it, except where retention is required by law or where the data resides on a public blockchain.
9. Security
We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and secure token storage. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Your rights & choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can update much of your profile in-app, and you can request account deletion by contacting us at support@momentum.app. We will respond consistent with applicable law.
11. Children’s privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. International data transfers
We may process and store information in countries other than where you live. Where required, we implement appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
13. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
